Wednesday Morning Study Group
This long running group meets over coffee and muffins each Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:00 am. From time to time the group makes its own decision about what to study next. Sometimes it’s a book of the Bible. Sometimes it’s a book that reflects recent thinking about what we believe and about the nature and purpose of the church. Sometimes we try on various spiritual practices. Always we work to be a caring community, respectful of a diversity of views.
Leadership is shared among our capable group members. This is a very thoughtful and stimulating group of people. Coffee is provided and we have a roster to bring muffins and condiments to share with the group. Newcomers are always welcome; just show up. We meet in the lounge upstairs above the hall. Please use the entrance off 4th Street SE.

Salmon Arm Kairos Committee
The KAIROS Committee consists of members of the Anglican, Lutheran, Roman Catholic and United Churches in Salmon Arm. We are part of a national inter-church body, KAIROS, which was formed by amalgamating ecumenical groups such as Ten Days for World Development, Project North and the Churches’ Council for Social Responsibility.
We meet once a month to discuss, write letters and organize educational events on social justice and peace issues as they stem from our Christian beliefs. We take part in KAIROS’ national campaigns and regional gatherings. KAIROS’ current national campaign alerts church members to the particularly devastating impact of climate change on people living in extreme poverty. We also join with other local groups to promote the abolition of nuclear weapons, a just peace in the Middle East, programmes to reduce homelessness, and responsible practices by Canadian mining and oil companies.
If you are concerned about such issues, please join with us! We meet upstairs at First United at 1:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month.
